So both Saturday and Sunday I spent the morning up at Bestwood Country Park photographing all manner of beautiful dogs! Honestly, how lucky am I to have such a brilliant job where I get to work with beautiful animals and their owners, little newborns, beautiful brides and grooms and celebrating all manner of lovely occasions with people all over the UK. Sunday started a bit miserable with lots of rain, but it didn't last long, but the floor of the woods was soggy and muddy and me dressed in my typical odd attire (shorts and flip flops in all weather) made for some incredibly muddy feet! I'm fairly certain I have at least 2 potential submission pieces for Dog Photographer of the Year this year and I've not yet sat and gone through all of my images (there are close to 2000 photos!) I'm bound to be busy for a little while, especially as I have paying clients in between my own projects who are a priority. I'm just waiting for the Kennel Club to finally make an announcement and open for submissions now and find out what the rules and regulations are with regards how many images may be entered and all that good stuff. Hopefully it'll be very soon! Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more photos once I've made my final decisions and more information once submissions close and we await the judging. Last year according to the website for the competition there were over 13,000 entries from over 60 countries! No pressure! This is my first international competition entry given I've been doing this for 6 years now, but it's time to get myself out there. This is the first, but definitely not the last - Stay tuned folks!
