Mitzi the Springer Spaniel was in ball overdrive, she was lovely and very quick on her feet which made for some great action shots. The horses on the other hand were content to stand, observe and generally be very handsome and proud, except perhaps goofy little Rain who was the pony of the field but quite possibly the cheekiest. So full of character it reminded me of riding in my youth and spending time in stable yards around these big beautiful giants. I forgot just how on your toes you have to be around several of them on the move at once to avoid being stood on, knocked over or getting near the back end but after a few reminder dance steps we were shooting away quite the thing, knee deep in mud and laughing at the horses and their fantastic personalities.
I look forward to my next horse session, I don't often get asked to photograph them so this was a lovely change and left me yearning to do some more, so don't be shy, I'd LOVE to come to your stable yard or field and take some photos of your horses and ponies, some riding, posing, in the stable, in the field, at play or working, jumping, dressage training or even in competition!
